The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has officially released the UPSSSC Pharmacist Syllabus 2026 along with the detailed exam pattern for 560 Group ‘C’ Pharmacist posts under the Directorate of Medical and Health Services, Uttar Pradesh.

Part 1: Subject Related Knowledge (Pharmacy) – 65 Marks

The pharmacy section is based on the Diploma in Pharmacy level. Major topics include:

Pharmaceutics Acids, bases & buffers, antioxidants, gastrointestinal agents, topical agents, antimicrobials, astringents, dental products, respiratory stimulants, expectorants, emetics, antidotes, major electrolytes, inorganic official compounds, radiopharmaceuticals, contrast media, quality control, and pharmacognosy tests.

Pharmacognosy Laxatives, cardiotonics, carminatives & G.I. regulators, astringents, drugs acting on nervous system, antihypertensive, antitussives, antirheumatics, antitumour, antileprotics, antidiabetics, diuretics, antidysenterics, antiseptics, disinfectants, antimalarials, oxytocics, vitamins, enzymes, perfumes & flavoring agents.

Human Anatomy and Physiology Scope of anatomy & physiology, elementary tissues, skeletal system, cardiovascular system, respiratory system, urinary system, muscular system, Central Nervous System (CNS), sensory organs, digestive system, endocrine system, and reproductive system.

Health Education and Community Pharmacy Concept of health, nutrition & health, first aid, environment & health, microbiology, communicable diseases, intestinal infections, arthropod-borne infections, surface infections, sexually transmitted diseases, non-communicable diseases, and epidemiology.

Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence Origin of pharmaceutical legislation in India, Pharmacy Act 1948, Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940, Drugs and Magic Remedies Act 1954, Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985, Latest Drug (Price Control) Order, Poison Act 1919 (updated), Medicinal and Toilet Preparations Act 1955, and Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act 1971 (updated). Professional ethics are also included.

Pharmacology and Toxicology Routes of administration, mechanism of action, drugs acting on CNS & respiratory system, autocoids, cardiovascular drugs, drugs affecting renal function, hormones & antagonists, drugs acting on digestive system, chemotherapy of microbial diseases, disinfectants, and antiseptics.
